1950's Group Session
High School Senior Photography Hortonville, Wisconsin
1950's Themed Graduation Pictures
One of my favorite parts about my job is getting to share the experience during a session with some amazing people, and I think my 1950’s inspired session with my beautiful senior representatives really exemplifies how much fun we have. With the help of some talented friends (we’ll get to them soon!) and the perfect location, we found ourselves transported through time for what may be Copper Arrow Photography’s most unforgettable session yet.
So, who are my senior representatives? I’m glad you asked. These four girls are a part of my team, representing my business and promoting my brand. They are the sweetest, most down to earth girls—and it is an honor that they’re the face of Copper Arrow Photography. Cierra and I share a love of horses, and as a barrel racer, she’s a girl after my own heart. Savana is an incredibly talented artist and a charming person to work with. Desirae has a passion for animals, actively participates in the FFA and is always trying new things. And Savanha, an absolute joy to photograph, works with her family raising Gypsy horses. These girls are laid back, fun and passionate—a recipe for a good time.
The session took place at Charlie’s Drive-In, an eclectic drive-in diner, in Hortonville, that’s been serving the area for over fifty years. With its flashing lights, untouched design and vintage feel, I knew this would be the perfect place to capture an authentic 1950's vibe. Charlie’s also makes some amazing food—and I would be lying if I said we didn’t sample the menu.
When the day for our session came, I was so nervous because the entire day had been on and off rain. However, the rain subsided just in time for our session and even though it was a little chilly, some blankets I brought from home kept us all warm and cozy in between shots. I always try to come prepared for whatever may come our way during a shoot. As the photographer, I always want my clients to be comfortable and at ease. That’s why they never have to doubt that I’ve got their backs!
Our session was laid back and relaxed, overflowing with laughs, unexpected candids and memorable moments. I believe some of the best pictures are captured naturally, without strict rules or stuffy poses. I think the pictures really showcase how much fun our session was—the joy from each girl seems to radiate from within! We’re all going to cherish these memories for years to come.
I couldn’t have done this without those who helped behind the scenes. Poppy Avenue Boutique in DePere outfitted all the girls, Christian and Audra created perfect outfits that felt both timeless and throwback. I adored working with them and learned a lot from watching them expertly put pieces together to create outfits.
Angela Marie Makeup Artistry did all the hair and makeup—and I think the pictures prove that she nailed it. I really wanted something simple and natural that would still embody the 1950's, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the results. She made all the girls feel special and beautiful.
