Some things in this life are so nice we deserve to have them twice. This was true for Dana. She had already had senior photographs taken when she reached out to me with interest in a senior session. But she wanted a redo—and this time, she wanted to be sure that her horses were included. I was excited to help her get the senior pictures she knew she had wanted from the start. Naturally, I agree that our horses should always be a part of life’s special moments. Dana has such a loving bond with her horses that it only seemed right to include them. The session took place in Luxemburg, Wisconsin. Luxemburg is about thirty minutes outside of Green Bay, and as you drive away from the city, the urban landscape quickly melts into beautiful farmland. Dana and her family own a private farm in Luxemburg, where all of the photographs were taken. Their sprawling property was picturesque with pristine picket fences, charming barns, and rolling hills speckled with trees still flourishing from the summertime. The day was cold and windy, with unexpected snowfall making an appearance about halfway through. Still, the pictures could not have turned out better. There was a lovely juxtaposition between the sparkling white snowflakes and the trees yet laden down with their vibrant red and green leaves. I loved watching the interactions between Dana and her two geldings. The two boys absolutely adored Dana. The three of them made quite the trio with their matching neck wreaths and Dana’s floral crown, all of which I provided. Angela Marie Makeup Artistry did Dana’s hair and makeup. With her pretty outfit choices and the lovely flower crown, Dana looked just darling. The mood was relaxed and cheerful, and I loved listening to Dana talk about life on the family farm and her history with horses. The farm is home to several horses, and it was an excellent opportunity to capture some equine photographs. I was able to subsequently edit in my signature black backgrounds. It was such a fun and diverse session, and the beautiful day spent with the horses and a lovely senior will not soon be forgotten. If your first round of senior photographs does not meet all of your expectations, I want to be there to make sure you get the photos you have always dreamed of.
