“Eu So Vein” is Portuguese for “I just come”, which makes it the perfect name for the gorgeous Polish Arabian featured in our next Project 27 installment. Eu So Vein, or more commonly referred to as Finn, has been the heart horse of experienced horsewoman Jamie for nearly 2 decades. And whenever she needs his support, well, he just comes running!
Jamie was born into horses and had a pony before she could even walk, so it was no surprise that she purchased her own horse as soon as she was able to. Finn was that horse, and while they didn’t bond instantly, Jamie could tell there was an unspoken trust between them. She knew that even if there was a long road ahead of them, Finn would always take care of her. And he has.
It didn’t take long for Jamie to realize that Finn was different from any horse she’d rode before. “He never hesitates to do what I ask even if it’s scary, because he knows I would never put him in a dangerous situation,” Jamie says. “I’ve been told more than once that he’s a different horse when I ride him, relaxed and completely at ease.” To know that Finn loves and trusts her fills Jamie with the warmth that anyone who has ever loved a horse is familiar with.
Like so many, Jamie suffers from an anxiety and panic disorder and finds refuge and safety in Finn’s company. “He’s gotten me through some really tough times in my life,” she says. “When I’m with him I’m calm and at peace and I can’t quite explain why.” And Finn clearly feels the same way about his mom—whenever he sees her, he instantly perks up, his ears pointed towards her and his excitement evident as they get ready for a ride.
I loved getting to know Jamie and Finn and enjoyed watching them interact with one another. When you spend this long with someone, it’s impossible to not grow into a very special relationship, and the two of them evidently share an incredible bond. Finn and Jaime were the perfect addition to Project 27, and I felt privileged getting to present these two as a feature in a project that’s so dear to my heart.
