Have you ever noticed how when the sun shines behind a row of trees the light can sometimes catch in the leaves just right, casting an ethereal and golden glow around each twist of the branch? Or how brilliant so many different shades of green can be on a warm, summer day? When the day came to take Sam's senior pictures, I was overwhelmed by just how perfect the day was. And at our client exclusive location here in Wisconsin, the conditions couldn't have been any better.
After hair and makeup with the very talented Angela Marie, we headed outside to get started. Sam was so excited to be graduating, and along with her mom we chatted and caught up since our initial meeting. She filled me in on all her plans for the future and the many fun ways she was filling up her last few days of summer. Sam and her mom are both sweethearts, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them—not to mention getting to meet Sam's incredible costar, the beautiful Silas.
Silas is a Saddlebred, a breed I've always found fascinating. Saddlebreds are often referred to as the "Horse America Made", which is a reference to the riding type horses of the American Revolution that this breed descended from. Found among its ancestors are the Narragansett Pacer, Morgan, Thoroughbred, and Canadian Pacer, resulting in a stunning and elegant horse with a spirited yet kind temperament. Silas was no exception; he carried himself fashionably, gracefully responding to Sam while he consistently maintained a calm and collected demeanor.
As we made our way across the property and experimented with a variety of poses and positions, Sam shifted through her wardrobe for some outfit changes. From her plaid shirt and cowboy hat to an adorable mini dress and riding boots, I think we can all agree that this girl has impeccable style!
I am thrilled with the results of Sam's senior pictures and was inspired with a few ideas for future sessions.
