Emma | Wisconsin Horse & Rider Portraits
Horse & Rider Photos in Wisconsin
Oxford, WI
American horse trainer Pat Parelli once said that “a horse doesn’t care how much you know until he knows how much you care”. This is so true for many of the equestrians I have had the honor of working with. While so many of my clients boast impressive skills backed by years of experience, their utmost priority is always ensuring that their horses know how loved and valued they are. It’s that kind of mutual respect that builds the foundation of every solid horse and rider bond. And it was that kind of friendship that I loved observing between Emma and her five beautiful horses. Many riders are fortunate to own one horse, but Emma has been blessed with many. Her crew is made up of Zip, a Palomino, Blaze, a Paint, Jack, a Bay Quarter Horse, and Woodruff, another Bay. She also housed Starfire, a sweet Appaloosa Cross rescue she is trained for the Midwest Rescue Horse Trail Challenge. As anyone who has spent time with horses will know, every horse has its unique personality and little quirks. It was very entertaining watching all the horses interact with both Emma and each other! Despite their bursting energy, they were all eager to show off their best behavior and pose with Mom for the camera. Eva, Emma’s sweet dog, made it into a few of the pictures as well as her boyfriend, Steven. Steven helps Emma with her horses, and I loved having him for the pictures. Not only was he a helpful hand, but he is a very attentive and doting boyfriend who adores Emma. I really enjoyed capturing their sweet interactions, and I am glad we were able to feature their relationship in spite of the equestrian-themed session. Our session took place in Oxford, Wisconsin, on Emma’s personal property. While the weather in Wisconsin can so often be unpredictable, it was perfect for our shoot. When a day is both warm and sunny, it is hard to ask for anything better. Angela and her assistant Autumn from Angela Marie Makeup Artistry joined me behind the scenes to help Emma get camera ready, and my husband Chris tagged along to lend his very helpful hand. I am so grateful to have such a dynamic team helping me give my clients the photographs they deserve; ones they can cherish for the rest of their lives. Emma chose her family, and I think you’ll agree that it is a very special one. Our pets become our closest friends. And in many cases, they become our family. Family deserves to be remembered. Professional photographs are one of the best ways to commemorate your loved ones. If furry friends make up a good portion of your family, I want to hear about them. I believe they deserve to be celebrated as much as anyone else. And I can’t wait to meet your family—no matter how big or small.
