One of my favorite things about summer is when my weekends become booked with senior sessions. I love these sessions with grads—on the brink of adulthood, their enthusiasm is contagious as we swap stories and talk about the future. Senior pictures are a joyous occasion with cause for celebration—and when spent against the backdrop of a glowing summer sun, with a herd of horses in tow, priceless memories instantly ensue. I think that Lily and her family would agree that our time spent together was an absolute blast, and I can't wait to share with you the amazing pictures that came from our session.
Lily wanted to include her three horses in her senior pictures, which was such a treat. Her horses are nothing short of stunning, and she possesses such a unique relationship with each of them. PFF Perks Will Do aka Willy, a palomino AQHA gelding, is currently being trained in barrel racing, while Halis Hot Racer aka Zorro, a dark bay AQHA gelding, is her current barrel horse. She also brought Brooks Dashing Gal aka Brooke aka Queen B, her retired Appaloosa barrel horse who is lovingly doted on by the entire family.
Lily has so much confidence around her horses, which you'll see reflected in her independent and self-assured disposition. Her family came along to sneak in for some adorable family pictures, and I loved hearing stories about Lily and her experience with horses. Her mom, Dawn, shared with me that if Lily ever injured herself while riding her horses, she would tough it out and pretend nothing happened, finding herself back on the horse in no time. That kind of confidence has always stood out to me as the mark of a true horsewoman.
I also loved getting to know Lily's brother, Michael, and her dad, Mike. Angela Marie of Angela Marie Hair and Makeup Artistry joined us all behind the scenes, and as always, she did such a great job defining Lily's already gorgeous features. They were all such a fun group to spend the day with! I couldn't be more pleased with the pictures I captured, not just of Lily and her horses, but of Lily and her family, too.
A session with me can celebrate more than just one special occasion. In Lily's case, we were celebrating her graduation, her relationship with her family, and the bond she has with her three horses. I want to curate an experience for you that is personalized and multi-dimensional. Every person is different, and no one's story is the same. I am dedicated to telling diverse stories while keeping my sessions true to each of my clients, recognizing them as the exceptional individuals they are.
