Stallion Marketing Photoshoot
Hilbert, WI
No matter what your line of business, delving into the world of sales and marketing can be an intimidating experience. For equestrians looking to sell their horses or breed their stallions, the experience is no different. Marketing involves much more than meets the eye, and to be successful in sales requires organization, communication, and a knack for working with others. I love helping my clients become successful in their fields by providing them with quality pictures of their horses, as well as marketing tools like banners or logos designed specifically for their business.
It was for this very reason that I found myself in Brillion, Wisconsin on a cold and cloudy day to take pictures of Silver Wood Cody, a beautiful and spirited young stallion. The fresh snow was aglow in the background and the horses were energetic and agreeable, eager to please. His owner at the time of our shoot, Courtney Schierl, was excited to get some pictures to show off Silver Wood Cody’s graceful movements and stunning conformation. This beautiful and gentle guy was an absolute joy to be around, and Courtney’s excitement was infectious during the shoot.
Courtney’s enthusiasm was expressed in stories about Silver Wood Cody and her time caring for him. The stallion is one-of-a-kind in that he carries the unique silver gene, which is rare in general and hard to find in quarter horses. He is a registered AQHA Silver Brown stallion and in addition to his unique coloring and natural highlights, he has a charming demeanor and has passed on his many attributes to the five foals he has already fathered. Originally from Oklahoma, Silver Wood Cody made the long journey to Wisconsin and adapted to his new life under Courtney’s experienced care. Courtney manages her own brand—Courtney Ann Quarter Horses—and during their time together, Silver Wood Cody was an excellent addition to her team.
Working with Courtney presented many opportunities to challenge myself as a creative. As a busy boss lady, Courtney was interested in having me design a banner for Silver Wood Cody to use at the Midwest Horse Fair. I could not wait to get started! My first love is in photography, but design is something I have been passionate about for a long time. I was very excited to share with her the finished results, and I can’t wait to see the banner on full display at the Midwest Horse Fair on April 12th, 13th, and 14th. Will I see you there, too?
While Silver Wood Cody may no longer be under Courtney’s care, I have no doubt that him and his new owner will reach unprecedented success. The same can be said about Courtney and her business—with her passion and intuitive business skills, she’s working with a recipe for success. If you are a business owner looking for tools to expand your networking, a great place to start is in some quality pictures, business banners, or logos. I look forward to helping you grow your business.
